Entry Requirements Explained
To ensure a high academic standard without limiting the diversity of applicants, the following eligibility criteria apply for the SPOT programme:
1. Educational Background
You must hold a bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in psychology, recognised by the EU as a 1st or 2nd cycle degree, with a minimum of 180 ECTS credits. At least 100 of these ECTS must be specifically in psychology.
2. Uni-Assist Approval
All international applicants must be approved through Uni-Assist, a service that evaluates international student applications for German universities.
3. English Proficiency
A strong command of English is required, with a C1 level in both written and spoken English, as defined by the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR).
4. Additional Considerations
While not mandatory, internship experience in psychology or related fields will be considered during the selection process. Furthermore, involvement in civic-society initiatives, as well as volunteer work, will also strengthen your application. These experiences demonstrate your commitment to applying psychological principles in real-world contexts and your dedication to making a positive societal impact—qualities highly valued by the SPOT programme.
5. Application Process
The application is fully online, processed through the Uni-Assist platform. This ensures user-friendly navigation, efficient data sharing, and GDPR compliance for a fair and secure experience. You can submit digital copies during the application, but once admitted, you will need to provide the original documents.
