Application Guide

Before applying, we strongly advise you to read the information below carefully.

Application Timeline

Following two successful calls for applications, we are pleased to open a third and final round, open to non-scholarship (self-funded) applicants.

The application portal is open from 28 May to 15 July 2026. Responses can be expected by early August 2026.

Please note that, in addition to the closing date for applications, there are other deadlines to take into account (see below). In particular, as the programme is due to start soon, applicants who require a visa to study in the EU should carefully consider whether there is enough time to obtain one.

Submit your application exclusively through our application portal (email applications are not accepted):

Important: Uni-Assist Evaluation Report

For your application to be considered, your academic credentials must be evaluated and verified by Uni-Assist for the SPOT programme in the Winter Semester of 2026/27 (see more). The Evaluation Report that you receive from Uni-Assist must be submitted with your application to us. Evaluation Reports for other degree programmes and/or semesters are not accepted.

To receive the Evaluation Report in time, you must submit your documents to Uni-Assist by 24 June 2026 – well before the application deadline closes on 15 July. All documents must be complete and fully compliant with Uni-Assist’s country-specific requirements at the time of submission.

If the documents you submit are incomplete, incorrect, or do not meet the formal criteria from Uni-Assist, this may delay the issuance of your Evaluation Report. Late or incomplete submissions to Uni-Assist usually result in the Evaluation Report not being issued in time (i.e. before the SPOT application deadline), which may lead to your application failing the eligibility check.

Additional Required Documents

Please ensure that all other required documents are submitted along with the Uni-Assist Evaluation Report, including the following:

  • Diploma Certificate, including a certified English translation
  • Diploma Supplement listing all courses completed and grades received, along with a certified English translation
  • English Language Certificate: Submit proof of a minimum C1 level (recognised are proctored exams from Duolingo, TOEFL, IELTS, or CAE) or confirmation from your university that English was your language of instruction
  • Curriculum Vitae: Highlight your studies, volunteering, and extracurricular activities that are relevant to the programme.
  • Copy of Passport: Your passport details will only be accessible to the SPOT Admissions Committee and are required for enrolment purposes.
  • Proof of Residency: If your nationality differs from your country of residence, include this documentation for scholarship allocation purposes.
  • Proof of Study: If currently enrolled in a bachelor’s or master’s programme, include confirmation of enrolment and your expected graduation date.
  • Proof of Employment: For employed applicants, provide details about your employer. Note that SPOT is a full-time programme.
  • SPOT Application Form:
    • Describe any relevant experiences such as 1) Internship/Work/Training, 2) Volunteering/Advocacy/Civic Engagement, and 3) Scientific Publications
    • If applicable, indicate your preferred scholarship type
    • If you are a special needs applicant, indicate this, but DO NOT upload any related documentation via Uni-Assist

Note: If multiple applications are submitted, only the most recent one will be reviewed; all previous submissions (complete or incomplete) will be disregarded in the selection process. Incomplete or ineligible applications will not be forwarded to the SPOT Consortium for review.

We look forward to receiving your application!
